Something not working? Ask us.

Prai is small, and we answer our own mail. Most problems turn out to be one of the six below — and if none of them fit, write to us and a person will read it.

Quick answers

The six we're asked most.

I don't see an Install button

On iPhone and iPad there isn't one — Apple only allows installing from Safari's own menu. Open prai.live in Safari, tap Share (the square with an arrow), then Add to Home Screen. On Android, use Chrome — some other browsers hide the prompt; Chrome's menu has Install app. On a computer, use Chrome, Edge or Brave and look for the install icon in the address bar. If Prai is already installed, the button disappears on purpose.

I forgot my PIN

Write to us at hello@prai.live and we'll help you sort it out by hand — there's no automatic reset yet, and we'd rather say so than pretend. Take heart on the important part: your prayers, journal and highlights are stored on the device itself, not behind the sign-in, so as long as you still have the phone they haven't gone anywhere. If you've made a backup file, keep it somewhere safe before you do anything else.

I'm moving to a new phone

Do this before you wipe the old one. In Prai, open the Me tab and save the backup file — that's your prayers, journal, plans and highlights. Put it somewhere you'll still have it: email it to yourself, or drop it in your cloud storage. Then install Prai on the new phone, sign in with the same username and PIN, and restore the file.

Read-aloud stops when I lock the screen

That one's a real limit, not a fault. A web app can only keep speaking while it's open on screen. Listening with the phone locked in your pocket needs the native Android build, which is written and waiting on the Google Play release. In the meantime, turning your screen timeout up and leaving Prai open in front of you works.

Prai seems stuck on an old version

Installed apps update in the background, but only once they're fully closed. Close every Prai window — on Android, swipe it out of the recent-apps list — wait a moment, and open it again. If it's still behaving oddly, uninstalling and reinstalling is safe for your account, though you should save your backup file first, since removing the app removes the on-device data with it.

I want my account deleted

Write to privacy@debecorp.com and we'll delete the account and everything held against it — which is only a username, a hashed PIN, and the dated record that you accepted the terms. Your prayers and journal aren't ours to delete; they're on your device, and uninstalling Prai removes them. The whole picture is on the privacy page.

Prai isn't a crisis service.

Prai is a devotional app — not pastoral, medical or crisis care, and nothing it says carries pastoral authority. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line. In the United States you can call or text 988, any hour. And if you can manage it today, tell one person you trust — a pastor, a friend, family. You were never meant to carry it alone.

Wanting to support Prai instead?

Prai is free, with no ads and nothing sold on — which means it's paid for by the people who can give. There's no obligation, and nothing is locked behind it.
